BCU Senior Exhibit Features Student’s Steel Sculptures
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff University is proud to
announce the Senior Exhibit, featuring the works of April
Zingler, opening on Monday, April 14 in the Clausen Art Gallery
in the Stark Student Center on campus. An opening reception will
be held on Sunday, April 20 from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
The show, which runs through April 28, will
have for viewing 11 of Zingler’s works constructed from solid
steel bars with copper accents.
“By using solid steel, I am able to give my pieces the
feeling of strength and stability,” said Zingler, a senior art
major at Briar Cliff University. “At the same time, because the
steel rods are no larger than one inch in diameter, there is a
certain airy quality to my work as well,” she explained.
The Clausen Art Gallery is open to the public from 8:00 a.m.
– 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday. The gallery is closed on weekends,
with the exception of special events.
