BCU’s to Host “Effects of
New Technology on Communication” Panel
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Briar Cliff
University will host a panel discussion titled “The Effects of
New Technology on Communication - Return of Prairie Fire” at
3:15 p.m., Thursday, April 17 in the St. Francis Center in the
Stark Student Center on campus.
Sponsored by BCU’s Faculty
Development Committee, the panel will feature Briar Cliff
University faculty members Stephen Brown, Ph.D., assistant
professor of philosophy; Kristen Hansen, M.A., instructor of
mass communications; and Sam Shanks, Ph.D., instructor of
theatre.
The panel will discuss how
communication has changed with technology, including
text-messaging, instant messaging, e-mail and cell phones.
The event is free and open to the public.
Briar Cliff University is a Catholic institution with an
