BCU Welcomes Gideon Yago of MTV
News
Briar Cliff University will host Gideon Yago, a former MTV news
producer and correspondent, at 8 p.m. on Monday, April 21 in the
St. Francis Center of the Stark Student Center.
Yago will speak to BCU students about
politics and other global issues. Yago’s
presentation is sponsored by the Briar Cliff University
Student Government Association (SGA) and the Campus Activities
Board.
“We are excited to have Gideon Yago at BCU,” said Kristin
Ruhlman, president of SGA. “His experience and talent are
remarkable. In his work as a news reporter, he brings the news
to life.”
For the past decade, Gideon Yago has been the source young
adults turn to for news, filing reports from Iraq, Kuwait,
Pakistan and New Orleans. Throughout his
career, Yago has interviewed politicians, musicians and other
celebrities, including President George W. Bush, former
President Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Colin Powell and Bill Gates.
Yago has received numerous awards, including an Emmy for
his coverage of the 2004 election and the Edward R. Murrow Award
for outstanding documentary coverage of the Iraq war.
Briar Cliff University is a Catholic institution with an
