1970s

Noreen (Schneider) Eskildsen ’70 retired from Crescent Park Elementary School in Sioux City. She taught art in the district for 39 years, 27 were at Crescent Park.

Bev (Koser) O’Hara ’70 retired from the library at Crescent Park Elementary in Sioux City. Of the 25 years Bev served the school district, she spent 10 years at Joy Elementary and 15 years at Crescent Park.

Paula (May) Prescott ’70 retired from the Albert Lea School District in Albert Lea, Minn., where she was the art educator for the district. Paula and her husband, David, are enjoying life at their lake cabin and are looking forward to their first grandchild.

Carol (Johnston) Berzina ’72 retired from North High School in Sioux City, where she taught social studies for 38 years.

Daniel Oldis ’72 had his article “Multi-Player Dream Games” published in the spring issue of The Lucid Dream Exchange.

Georgia Cortez ’79 has started her second career as an online occupational safety instructor at San Juan College in Farmington, N.M.

1980s

Patricia (Ewert) Flannagan ’82 retired after 40 years of nursing. She spent 22 years as an adult nurse practitioner at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

John Millea ’81 is a media specialist with the Minnesota State High School League. Previously, John was a sports editor, reporter and columnist for newspapers in Iowa, Arizona and Minnesota, for 30 years.

Gloria (Gill) Lewis ’01 has earned an MSN/MHA from the University of Phoenix, where she is completing her Doctorate of Education. Gloria teaches at the University of Phoenix’s online community college.

Jayna Berens ’07 earned a Master of Social Work from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Jayna is a mental health therapist at Heartland Family Service in Omaha, Neb. She plans to marry John Baczwaski on Sept. 18, 2010.  

William Darwin, Jr. ’08 was a featured soloist in a summer concert of Benjamin Britten’s “Rejoice in the Lamb” at Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Sioux City. William is pursuing his master’s degree in vocal performance at the University of South Dakota’s School of Music in Vermillion.
