The most important thing is that you file your FAFSA. Briar Cliff's school code is 001846. To be eligible for financial aid listed on this page, you must file your FAFSA and be enrolled in BCU's online degree completion program.

STATE & FEDERAL PROGRAMS


Iowa Tuition Grant

  • Must be an Iowa resident
  • Based on financial need
  • To apply, complete a FAFSA by July 1
  • Maximum amount for 2015-16 school year: $5,000

Federal Pell Grant

  • Based on financial need
  • Must be full-time student (12 credit hours per semester) for full award
  • To apply, complete a FAFSA by July 1
  • Maximum amount for 2015-16 school year: $5,775

Federal Direct Loans*

  • Long-term, fixed-rate loan from U.S. Department of Education
  • Come in two categories: subsidized and unsubsidized
  • Must file a FAFSA to be eligible
  • Must be enrolled at least half-time (six credit hours per semester)
  • Maximum amount for 2015-16 school year: $5,500 (freshmen), $6,500 (sophomores), $7,500 (juniors and seniors)

Federal Direct PLUS Loan*

  • A low-interest (fixed rate at 6.41%) option for borrowing beyond Federal Direct Loan limits.
  • Requires credit check performed by U.S. Department of Education
  • To apply, contact the Office of Financial Aid.

*To obtain federal loans, students must accept the loan(s) on their financial aid award letter. All first-time borrowers are required to complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and an entrance counseling session in order to borrow funds through the Direct Loan Program.
