Entrance Requirements

The following conditions must be met for admittance to Briar Cliff University:

  1. Graduation from an accredited high school (or GED equivalency).
  2. A cumulative high school GPA of 2.0.
  3. Sixteen units of high school work, including acceptable course work in English, Natural Sciences, Foreign Language, Social Studies, and Mathematics.  Exceptions may be made in certain cases in consultation with the Admissions Advisory Committee.
  4. A score of 18 on the American College Test (ACT) or the equivalent score on their Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). The writing portion on the ACT is optional. These requirements are waived if the student has been out of high school for five years or more.

Students seeking full-time admission but whose test scores or GPA are below these requirements may request their applications to be reviewed by the Admissions Advisory Committee. These students will be asked to submit letters of recommendation. For more information, contact the Admissions Office.
