Continuing Education

Whether you have attended college previously or have never taken a college course, Briar Cliff offers a warm, supportive environment and academic excellence with a faculty attuned to the needs of adult learners (traditionally five or more years removed from high school).

Adult learners may choose between two options:

1. Adult Undergraduate Studies: Adults can enroll as full-time or part-time students during the day. Read more
2. Online Degree Completion: This is an accelerated online program format, featuring degree completion in as little as 18 months. Read more

Checklist for Adult Learners

1. Complete application online or request one by mail (call 712-279-5200)
2. Provide official transcripts from EVERY institution you have attended, including any part-time attendance. Once we receive a copy of your official transcripts, we can evaluate them to determine how many credits will transfer to Briar Cliff
3. Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to qualify for scholarships and financial aid awards. The institutional code for BCU is 001846.
4. Attend a special orientation session for new continuing education students. Attending orientation will assure you that you are ready to go when your classes begin. Sessions are held at times that accommodate adult learners’ busy schedules.
