Guatemala Trip

Guatemala Trip

Take a crash course in Spanish, build a home in three days for a needy family, care for malnourished children and serve food to the homeless. It's all part of a life-changing service and learning trip to Guatemala — an adventure you'll carry with you for the rest of your life!

The service work is done through God's Child Project, an organization that cares for orphaned, abandoned and poverty stricken children in Central America and the U.S. In addition to the service work, you'll have the chance to travel to Lake Atitlan and Chicicastenango, shop at Guatemala's largest "mercado," and experience an entirely different culture firsthand.

Course credit is available (LIBA 420, SPAN 450, CORE 101). You'll begin with pre-travel reading assignments, research, and classroom discussion on the Briar Cliff campus, followed by the two weeks in Guatemala. Download sylllabus (PDF) »
