The purpose of the Briar Cliff University Honors Program is to create a culture of academic excellence by providing unique opportunities to its members. The program is designed to respond to the needs of those students who come to Briar Cliff with greater preparation for the academic rigors of college and university study. The goals of the Honors Program are to: enable students to pursue their intellectual interests in a supportive environment while remaining connected to the larger university community, help students engage in active learning, expand critical thinking skills, refine oral and written expression, develop a keen sense of academic excellence, and instill a desire to achieve such excellence.
