Journalism and Mass Communication (Minor)
The journalism and mass communication minor is designed to teach students basic skills that apply to the converging media industry, including radio, television, print, public relations, photography, advertising, graphic design and social media.
The journalism and mass communication minor requires at least 18 MCOM credit hours, six of which must be earned at 300-level courses or above. The coursework must be approved by the department chairperson.
All students in the mass media department and any student enrolled in MCOM courses scheduled in the Integrated Media Center will be charged a $10 lab fee. To gain access, a student must first read the department’s IMC policy and sign the authorization for access form, which is available from the department chairperson.
