It is recommended that students who wish to major in computer science and who have previous computer experience begin with CSCI 201 Computer Programming I. Students with no previous computer experience who want to investigate the area of computer science may want to begin with CSCI 100 Introduction to Computers. CSCI 100 is an introductory course recommended for students in all disciplines and is not part of the major or minor sequence.

It is strongly recommended that the student majoring in computer science take a minor in another discipline in order to develop a content background and communication skills in another framework.
