Meet Vicki

Vicki Thomas started her degree at Briar Cliff in 1984, but she got married, started a family and never finished school. When she saw how happy her sister was with a college degree, Vicki wondered if she should return school herself.

“After my children were grown, I wanted to continue my education but felt I couldn’t do it,” said Vicki, a branch manager for Security National Bank. “I was so nervous about how I was going to be able to juggle my work schedule and study at the same time.”

But Vicki made up her mind that returning to finish her college degree was her own personal goal, so she enrolled Briar Cliff’s online degree completion program. It allowed her to work at her own pace.

“My coursework really fit my busy life,” she said. “And Briar Cliff’s professors cared as much about my success as I did.”

Vicki reached her goal, and walked across that stage in 2010.
